This is a call from iinouiio for all to join in

Our call comes in the form of a friendly challenge – to use our materials as creatively as possible; sending us your pictures and stories. With your permission, we’ll publish these on our website and/or social media to help the craft community to build on your success.

The aim is to explore and share fabulous ways of working with iinouiio materials made from recycled wool in Yorkshire, England. I can’t wait to see what you come up with and the best examples will be rewarded with iinouiio vouchers ;)

John (co-founder: iinouiio)

Hand spinners and weavers:
On our recent trip to the wonderful York and District Guild of Spinners Weavers and Dyers, there were all sorts of trials and explorations with our materials. Some seemed easy, others more challenging. All involved began adjusting their techniques and blending other materials with our recycled fibres to create new and exciting textures. It was so amazing!

Felting
Our friends at the Creative Craft Centre in Dewsbury had a workshop of people using iinouiio fibres to needle felt, with varying degrees of fun, success and frustration. (Video - Part 1, Part 2). Only needle felting was tested – people thought that wet felting would work even better. I wonder what visitors to the site could do?

The same friendly challenge applies to:

  • Crochet
  • Knitting
  • Embroidery
  • Patchwork
  • Sculpture
  • Collage
  • and much more.

Please share your ideas, give our materials a chance, show and tell us about your experience and what you’ve created.

We can’t do this thing without you …
