Tom Daley’s Olympic Cardigan!

Tom Daley’s Olympic Cardigan!

As you probably know, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics have just taken place. And as you may have heard, Tom Daley knitted his very own Olympic cardigan!! He said he wanted something to remind him of the games that he could ‘look back on in the future’.

He decided to include quite a few elements to the cardigan to represent different things, with the Olympic rings and ‘the Team GB logo on the back, the shoulders have a flag and GBR on them’ and kept the front simple with Tokyo in Japanese. Personally, I think it looks so cool and comfy and I want one myself! Since learning to knit, crochet, and WIN A GOLD MEDAL, he’s even managed to make a ‘little medal case’ for his GOLD medal.

It’s amazing to see someone so high profile doing some knitting in their spare time and how much notice other people have taken in it and will maybe start doing some themselves! Have you ever knitted something to remind you of an event or person?

Tom Daley posted that he’s using the opportunity that his knitting has brought to try and raise some money for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of his dad. The link below will take you to their website with more information if you want to make a donation.
